Cape Comic Con 2018 was just as fantastic as years before. This year I shared a table with our good friend author Jason Nugent and we had a blast hanging out with him. If you like a creepy read, or you enjoy a little sci-fi, check out his work! (JasonJNugent.com) We had a great time meeting new readers as well as getting to see readers we met last year. We were blessed to make new friends and spend time with old friends. And of course there were all the cool vendor items and special guests!

The highlight of the weekend, for me, was getting to meet one of my childhood heroes. Lou Ferrrigno was a bodybuilder and actor that played the Hulk version of the incredible Hulk on the TV series that aired from 1978 to 1982. (Way before CGI was a thing.) The Hulk was my hero as a little girl. He only went after the bad guys, but could be sweet and gentle too – like today’s movie Hulk is when he sees Black Widow.  Getting to meet the man that played such an fascinating childhood hero was a real thrill. I always love getting to meet creative people of all types, but this is one that will stick with me a while. Fangirl down y’all!

There were so many talented people at this event. I couldn’t begin to list them all! And the cosplay costumes are always so impressive. My kids love to cosplay so they always try out-do themselves from the year before. This year my son went as his favorite serial killer Jason.

Ghost Rider and Jason

Pennywise and Jason

Jason, Freddy Kruger, and Mike Myers #squadgoals

Other costumes that passed by my table.

Castiel and Baby from Supernatural

Steampunk Plague Doctor

Cool Batman R2D2 ran by remote control

There were a good number of authors attending Cape Comic Con this year as well! This is just a few.

Jason Nugent, Vince Churchill, Jay Noel, Brian K. Morris, Janet Reyes, and Amy Hale

I was thrilled that author A. S. McGowen stopped in to see me and pick up a copy of my Shadows Trilogy!

Speaking of The Shadows Trilogy. You guys… that weekend was nuts! I sold out of the trilogy on Saturday! I had to go home and dig into the stash I had put back for the following weekend (Salem Comic and Toy Expo) because there was no time to order more. I brought a few of those with me on Sunday and sold out of those as well!

I want to give a huge thank you to all who came out to see us! Even if you couldn’t buy anything, it was a joy to see you, chat a moment, and maybe share a laugh or smile. You all are the reason we show up at these events. You give us a reason to be there. I’m looking forward to the next event!

Stay tuned for the next event recap – Salem Toy and Comic Expo was a great time and I’ll be blogging about that soon. 🙂
